Junior Fishing Clinic - January School Holidays (Jan 20 - 22)

Give your kids the chance to learn the basics of recreational fishing in a fun, hands-on environment at Hillarys Yacht Club. Designed for ages 7 to 16, this three-day clinic teaches essential fishing skills including rigging a rod, casting, and safely catching fish from both the wharfs and the Club’s boat, Alibi.

The programme also includes a friendly fish weigh-in competition, prizes, and a sausage sizzle on Wednesday and Thursday.

Clinic Structure

Day 1 – Tuesday 20 January
9:00am – 11:45am
• Land-based introduction to fishing
• Learn rigging, knots, casting and safe handling

Day 2 – Wednesday 21 January
6:45am – 1:00pm
• Fishing session aboard Alibi, the Club’s boat
• Guided lessons from experienced fishers
• Sausage sizzle to finish

Day 3 – Thursday 22 January
6:45am – 1:00pm
• Friendly fishing competition
• Weigh-in and prize presentations
• Sausage sizzle to wrap up the clinic
