While the demersal fishing ban affects some original plans, there are still plenty of species we can fish for, so the weekend will go ahead as usual.

 

HYC Xmas Angling Celebration POSTPONED 28th December 20th-21st December

Lest Said Xmas Whiting Challenge and Secret Santas Herring Surprise

Fun Xmas themed competition; free for all HYC members, family and accompanying friends, fishing on same boat, to enter. All who register and fish are in to win super prizes (whether you catch anything or not). Total pool value +-$2100*.

Fish anytime between 6.00am and 3.30pm on Sunday 28 December Saturday the 20th and 2.30pm Sunday 21st for as long or short as you wish, (even just stop for ten on way back from Rotto and nab a herring).

Weigh in 4.00 pm Pinkies Bar, prizes awarded after weigh in complete.

Please individually register all people partaking in this event.

Prize Categories

Pinky's KG Whiting Challenge: Whiting closest to secret weight wins! 

3 prizes, $600 total, $300 first.

Secret Santa Herring Surprise: Prizes for both largest Herring and mystery weight (special Junior prize).

4 prizes, $700 total, $300 first.

Pinky and Santas Be-In-It-to-Win-It Draw: Lucky draw for all registered anglers who fish (Xmas hampers and other prizes).

3 prizes, $550 total.

Secret Santa Lucky Bag: Junior lucky draw for those who weigh in or participates.

Xmas Party Champion: Prize for the best festive outfit at weigh-in!

Guess the Total Catch: Prize for the registrant who guesses the closest to the total weight weighed in.

Rules at a Glance

· Disclaimer, the decision to fish is the sole responsibility of the skipper (see Event Waiver on the Registration page).

· Open to HYC members, family & friends fishing on the same boat. This is not an open competition and is limited to friends directly participating with members.

· Prizes are awarded to those attending the presentation and include prizes for anyone registering and fishing (whether they catch anything or not)

· 1 King George Whiting and 1 Herring per person (min sizes: 280mm / 200mm).

· All fish to be in weigh-in area by 4.00pm Sunday (Dec 28th).

· Registration open until 12.00pm Sunday 28th.

· Fish to be kept cool in separate suitable cloth bag, cool bag or eski type container (no plastic bags please). Each competitor shall have their fish in a separate container.

· Normal WA fishing regulations apply

*Prizes may be varied by Competition Management at any time cognisant of number of participants and other mitigating circumstances.

*In the event of unfavourable weather causing the competition to be cancelled, the participants will be notified by email.
