The Mouse Cup is one of the most entertaining nights on the H&G calendar, combining a full race card, friendly competition and plenty of laughs for all ages.
On the night, there will be six Event Races plus one prestigious Cup race, with the final race of the evening being the Adelaide Pool Glass Mouse Cup.
Each of the six Event Races features six mice, meaning 36 mice will race across the card. The winner of each Event Race automatically qualifies for the Adelaide Pool Glass Mouse Cup, where they’ll battle it out for the biggest prize of the night.
π Trainers – Get In Early
Every mouse has a Trainer and an Owner.
Trainers can purchase a mouse to train online between now and midnight, 23 February. The cost to become a Trainer is $25.
As a Trainer, you:
Get to name your mouse
Choose your mouse’s jockey
Take full bragging rights for its preparation (We will be in touch via email to obtain your Mouse Name, Jockey and any other fun details you have about your mouse!) (e.g. “Howdy Rowdy” – Jockey: Rowena Trevaskis | Trainer: David Trevaskis)
If your mouse wins:
You’ll receive a $60 cash payout
Plus additional prizes
And a trackside seat in the famous Ram Pen to watch the Race (our very own version of the Melbourne Cup Birdcage!)
Any mice not trained by midnight on 23 February will be named by the club.
π° Owners – Auction Night Action
On the night of the event, every mouse will be auctioned off live to the crowd.
Win the auction and you become the Owner
Individuals can bid, or groups can band together to form a Syndicate
Owners receive:
One trackside seat in the Ram Pen
50% of the auction takings for their Race as winnings
Additional prizes
And the chance to qualify for the Adelaide Pool Glass Mouse Cup
The Mouse Cup is a family-friendly event. While there may be the odd mouse name that nudges past a PG rating, we’ll keep it all good-natured and kosha.
