We're welcoming Shining Star to HBYC, she's an Yngling class keelboat intended for youth use, including racing.
Ynglings are small, 21ft keelboats, a great stepping stone into Keelboats from dinghies, or for anyone who likes sailing boats that are responsive and sporty.
These sessions are a chance to get familiar with Shining Star, and if you're an experienced sailor (dinghy or keelboat), to get accredited as a skipper.
Sign up if you are:
aged 14-25 with some sailing experience (dinghy or keelboat)
if you'd like to skipper an Yngling this coming season
if you'd like to crew on an Yngling this coming season
fancy a day on the water with other young people.
The sessions will include rigging/de-rigging and launching/retrieving the boat, manouvering in and out of the marina and MOB exercises as well as a chance to go for a good sail.
Time: 10am-3pm
Bring: weather appropriate clothing, hat, sunscreen, a change of clothing, towel (Ynglings are wet boats!)
Cost: $60 per session Please incate the day you intend to attend
