The Australian Team 2023 Nomination Form is to be completed by an athlete who is attending HA Masters Championships 2022 and would like to be considered for an Australian Team, Over 35 to Over 70.

All athletes must be eligible to represent Australia at the Trans Tasman Event in 2023 as per ‘Player Eligibility’ in the Women’s Selection Policy. Nominations will close on Monday 5 September 2022. Nomination fees are non refundable.

Australian teams to compete at a Trans Tasman event will be determined by entries received in each age category for Australia (and New Zealand). All age groups with sufficient nominations will be selected in anticipation of all divisions competing.

Players must be age eligible, which is determined by the age as at 31 December 2023 (e.g. to be selected in the Over 45 team, players must be turning 45 or older in 2023).

IMPORTANT INFORMATION for consideration prior to nominating:

The Australian Contingent commitment will be from Saturday to Sunday (8 nights). Anticipated timing will be end of April/early May 2023 – to be confirmed.

Pre event training in New Zealand will be organised for all teams on the days prior to commencement of the event and all players and officials must be in attendance for all training sessions.

All contingent players and officials will be required to meet at the accommodation or other location in New Zealand as designated by Hockey Australia Masters Committee (HAMC) on the date to be confirmed.

All selected players and appointed officials will be required to stay at the accommodation designated by HAMC. Suitable team transport will be organised.

Travel arrangements to and from the Trans Tasman event are the responsibility of selected players and officials at their own expense and at their own risk.

The budget for this event has not been finalised, however the preliminary indications are $1,650 including player levy and invoice from travel provider. Uniforms $400-$500. Travel insurance and flights need to be organised and paid by the player.

Uniform is an additional expense. Hockey Australia has a new uniform supplier (O'Neills) and players will need to order new playing strip, socks, tracksuit, training singlet, walkout shirt. Additional uniform items may be stipulated and optional items will be available.
