Over recent weeks we have seen increased water restrictions and worsening air quality and pollution due to the extreme drought and bushfire conditions within the Sydney region.
This year's Active Kids vouchers expire on 31 December 2019 and cannot be redeemed after this date. If you have a voucher that you have not claimed, contact Jeff and he can process it for you.
The boat booking system now restricts Black Boat booking only to the approved members. The system has been designed to only allow you to book boats you have been approved to row.  This will make it easier to know if you can row the boat or need to discuss with the Club Captain.
The 4 crews that headed off to Melbourne for the Head of the Yarra had a great time, with a win from the D Grade Men's crew in their division, coxed by Sammy! This was Sam's 15th HOY and the 1st win for him!  Amazing effort Sam.
At this year’s 2019 Reindeer and Sprint Championships Regattas, Rowing NSW will be hosting a food drive on behalf of Foodbank NSW. The Regattas will be used as collection points for you to bring along your non-perishable foods for donation.
Rowing NSW is running an information and theory session for members interested in becoming a Boat Race Official on Thursday 12 September, 6:30-8:30pm at Leichhardt Rowing Club.  Further opportunities for practical training to take place at Rowing NSW regattas. Thanks to all the voting members who attended the EGM & AGM last Sunday. The proposed Constitution was passed unanimously at the EGM, and is now formally the Constitution of the Club.
Rowing NSW are contacting all clubs with a request to reach out to the membership in the hope of providing a small number of Boat Race Officials and Volunteers throughout the season to assist Rowing NSW at regattas. Â
As many of you know, last Friday morning one of our crews was involved in a dangerous incident over near the Anzac Bridge, in which they were run over by a barge making its way towards the Anzac Bridge from the Bay. It's extremely fortunate that the crew only suffered mild abrasions and shock, especially given that they were forced and submerged under the barge itself.
Rowing NSW has opened its renewals for the 2019-2020 season. You must be registered with RNSW in order to compete in regattas (except for the JB Sharp).Â
