Important changes to the GRC Constitution

Published Tue 28 May 2019

In the past five years GRC has grown dramatically. With so many more members, we'd like to make it possible for more people to be part of the Committee, to lend their skill, passion and expertise to the running of the Club. However, to do that we need to change the Constitution. While we're at it we need to change some of the technical details of the Constitution to match updated government rules.

From an administrative perspective we need to have an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) to vote in the changes. To make it easier for everyone, we're going to hold that just before the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Sunday 4 August.

Prior to the EGM, we're going to hold two information sessions at the Club to provide all the details of what the changes are and how they will affect you.

We urge you to come along to these information sessions and get a good understanding of the proposed changes and ask any questions you might have before the EGM. That way you can be ready to vote at the EGM.

The session dates and times are below - please follow the link and register your attendance at one of the meetings so we know who will be there.

1.              Wednesday 17 July, 6pm
2.              Sunday 21 July, 9am

In the meantime, we've attached several documents that provide a lot of information on the topic:

1.            existing Constitution

2.            draft new Constitution

3.            document comparing existing and draft new Constitution

4.            2016 Model Constitution and

5.            a new role descriptions document which will be added to the Handbook

We look forward to seeing you at the information sessions.
