Member Protection Policy

This week the Committee ratified a major new policy for the club: Member Protection Policy

The main objective of the new policy is to maintain responsible behaviour and the making of informed decisions by members and other participants at GRC. It outlines our commitment to a person’s right to be treated with respect and dignity, and to be safe and protected from discrimination, harassment and abuse.

In many ways there are no new ideas in this policy and it should not change how we treat each other. It is 100% in alignment with the club’s long standing values.

However, it does codify and inform everyone involved in our club of their legal and ethical rights and responsibilities and the standards of behaviour that are expected of them. It also covers the care and protection of children participating in our club’s activities.

All members are subject to this policy and the club’s Terms of membership, as accepted when applying or renewing membership, have been updated to include reference to it.

Please take the time to read the full document: Member Protection Policy

If you have any questions please contact Luke (vice-captain@gleberowingclub.org.au) or Adam (secretary@gleberowingclub.org.au).

2021/22 Membership Renewals Are Now Due

You should have received notification that you need to renew your membership.

If you have any questions please contact Bri on membership@gleberowingclub.org.au or Jeff on  treasurer@gleberowingclub.org.au

SIRC GRC Training Day - Saturday 26th June

For any club member interested, Brad has secured Sydney International Regatta Centre at Penrith for a Glebe club training day on Saturday 26th June.

Good preparation for NSW Masters the following weekend.  Or for those who have never raced in lanes and want to give it a try.

If you are up for some speed work and want to make the trip to SIRC, please let Nick or Brad know.

GRC End of Season Party 2021 (19 June) - >> Click here to book <<

Bookings are now open for the End of Season party.

$25 per person - you need to pay via the GRC bank account or paypal/debit/credit card. We’re not accepting debits from your existing GRC account.

Make sure you register here: https://www.revolutionise.com.au/gleberc/events/101655/

To be able to set up properly and allow the shed to dry we would like you not to row after 8 am.

JB Sharp Regatta Series: Novice Racers Wanted! - Reminder

The first Regatta of this series is hosted at Glebe and will take place on the 18th of July

(Want to help at this Regatta? Please let Brad know.)

If you have either never raced or done very little racing and want to get some experience this is the very best regatta series to enter.

It’s free to enter and much less formal than any other regatta series.

Plenty of GRC folks cut their proverbial racing teeth at the “JB Sharps”.

Jump in and have a go.

Check out the JB  Sharp website for details and rules, more information to follow including how to enter.

Upcoming Regattas

Entries: to regattas@gleberowingclub.org.au by the Friday of the week before the regatta, i.e. minimum of 8 days prior.

Race fees: Have sufficient funds in your race fee account or you will not be entered. If in doubt contact treasurer@gleberowingclub.org.au. Top up your account: PayPal/Credit Card or Direct Deposit
