Dragon boating is open to all who wish to participate! Come and try it!

When?  Daylight saving : we paddle twice during the week in the evenings, and on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Where?  Sale Canal Boat Ramp and Jetty

If you are interested in coming along and trying it out, please contact us to see when we are paddling next, as it does sometimes change at late notice! We offer a months free membership Dragon Pass by Dragon Boat Victoria (DBV) which includes insurance. We offer club PFDs and paddles that you can borrow, coaching and a few laughs!. We would love to see you.

Gippsland Water Dragons Dragon Boat Club is based in Sale, Victoria since November 2020. Our logo is the indigenous Gippsland Water Dragon.

We paddle regularly, launching at the Sale Canal boat ramp & jetty  or McIntosh Drive Lake Guthridge, but only come to those sessions that you can get to. No-one keeps an attendance log! We all enjoy our social cuppa’n’cake after our Sunday morning paddle!

We welcome all who are looking for some fun, relaxed social friendship, and exercise, from gentle through to a high energy workout.  Dragon boating is suitable for those with all levels of fitness; including those who are recovering from a health issue or those looking for a competitive sport. When paddling, if you need a rest, just lift your paddle and wait till you are ready to start paddling again! The team will carry you. We all do it! Your fitness will build over time! For those who enjoy competition, we do attend regattas during the year, usually in Victoria, there are some interstate trips if you are interested. Some of us have qualified for and competed in State Representative teams!!
