What is Junior Rollers?

Junior Rollers is a fun, recreational learn to skate program for school aged kids and teens of all genders that runs for 2 hours over 6 sessions during the school Term. The focus of the program is for kids and teens to learn the basics of roller skating (how to get up, how to get down, how to start and how to stop) to enable them to skate safely around others. We then introduce some cool "tricks" to extend skaters based on their skill level. Skaters are encouraged to have a growth mindset and to set goals for themselves (instead of comparing themeslves to others).

THE 2 HOUR SESSION IS BROKEN INTO TWO PARTS: LEARN TO SKATE AND LEARN TO PLAY ROLLER DERBY

Learn to Skate (Sundays 12.30-1.30pm): Suitable for beginners through to more competent skaters, with a focus on building a growth mindset and setting personal goals while learning key roller skating skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Learn to Skate insurance = Junior Rollers $64.90 (you will be invoiced for insurance after registering for this event)

Learn to play Roller Derby & Derby Lite (Sundays 1.30-2.30pm): Please use other program registration if you wish to participate in this session. Suitable for skaters who are comfortable stopping and falling near others. Please chat with one of our coaches if you're not sure what session suits your child best! Derby Lite skaters can remain skating with their Learn to Skate insurance (as they don't have any contact with other skaters). Once skaters progress to low contact (after getting their White Star) they will need an insurance upgrade.

HOW TO WATCH ROLLER DERBY:
