This Learn to Sail program is ideal for those who are newcomers to the sport and want to learn how to sail an off-the-beach sailing vessel, initially with a partner on the boat.
Australian Sailing's LTS 1 is beginner-friendly, delivered through the Fraser Coast Sailing Academy in cooperation with the Maryborough Sailing Club (MSC). Participants must join the MSC as active sailing members, an additional $40.- fee applies for an adult membership which allows you to practice what you have learned on social club sailing days to the end of the season. Please note that this cost is on top of the course cost, FCSA can facilitate your membership processing with the Maryborough Sailing Club. (If any of your family members are already members of the MSC please talk to us first so we can make sure you get the best value membership option.)
This course runs over 2 consecutive days, weather allowing, with a minimum of 6 and maximum of 8 participants. If minimum numbers are not reached, all confirmed participants will receive a full refund or can elect to join on alternative dates. Any days cancelled due to inclement weather will be scheduled on alternative dates in consultation with the group, we will try to accomodate individual circumstances the best we can to allow you to complete the course.
Cost: $495.- for 2 days from 9am to 3:30pm, places are strictly limited so please book and pay early to avoid disappointment. Please note that payment is required within 3 days of registration to secure your spot, otherwise your registration may be cancelled - speak to us to make alternative arrangements.
Note: A maximum of $40.- ordinary membership fee will be due to the Maryborough Sailing Club prior to commencement of course. This payment can be processed through the FCSA, or directly with the MSC.

Course Overview
This course introduces participants to dinghy sailing and its fundamental skills so they learn terminology and equipment and practice launching and returning to shore and capsize recovery.

Water confident.
Who should do this course?
This course is designed for participants who wish to begin sailing in a dinghy. All the equipment and gear will be provided by your accredited Discover Sailing Centre.
Course Outcome
You will gain your Start Sailing 1 completion certificate.
