This Learn to Sail program is ideal for those who are newcomers to the sport and want to learn how to sail an off-the-beach sailing vessel on their own or with a partner.
Australian Sailing's LTS 1 is beginner-friendly. delivered through the Fraser Coast Sailing Academy in cooperation with the Hervey Bay Sailing Sailing Club. Course Participants must become Temporary Hervey Bay Sailing Club Members - an additional $10.- fee for the use of club facilities for the duration of the course. Note that this cost is on top of the course cost, and gives you insurance cover and a place to practice and participate in all saiing activities. FCSA can facilitate your membership processing with the Hervey Bay Sailing Club.
This course runs over 3 consecutive Saturdays, weather allowing. Any days cancelled due to inclement weather will be added as additional Saturdays after the advertised end of the course, no refunds will be given if alternate Saturdays need to be used.
Cost: $495.- for 3 times 5.5 hour sessions,places are strictly limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.
Note: A $10.- temporary membership fee will be due to the Hervey Bay Sailing Club prior to commencement of course. This can be paid and processed on the first day of the course.

Course Overview
This course introduces participants to dinghy sailing and its fundamental skills so they learn terminology and equipment and practice launching and returning to shore and capsize recovery.
Course Prerequisites
Water confident.
Who should do this course?
This course is designed for participants who wish to begin sailing in a dinghy. All the equipment and gear will be provided by your accredited Discover Sailing Centre.
Course Outcome
You will gain your Start Sailing 1 completion certificate.
