Australian Taekwondo is pleased to announce that the 2023 National Championships will take place in Western Australia, with Perth confirmed as the host city for this year's event.

The Championships will be hosted at the Gold Netball Centre in Jolimont from October 13-15, 2023. Kyorugi, Poomsae and Breaking disciplines will be on the schedule. An official outline will be communicated in the coming weeks, which will specify the schedule and information on all disciplines.

National Team Selection will also take place for the Pacific Games and Oceania Taekwondo Championships which will be result based selections. The event will also serve as a mandatory Olympic qualifying event.

Athlete Eligibility for Nationals 2023

• The Colour Belt Divisions are open to AUSTKD members who achieve a top four (4) placing in their State Selection Competition in their relevant divisions.
• Black Belts, where required by their States, shall have competed in their State Selection Competition in their relevant division.
• Holder of a Basic Membership & National Athlete License

Funding Assistance
Grants are currently open through the Australian Sports Commission for their Local Sporting Champions program, providing financial assistance for coaches, officials and competitors aged 12-18 participating in state, national or international championships. National Awards Dinner
Our National Awards Dinner will be held on the evening of Friday, October 13 in the Perth CBD area. Club tables will be available for purchase once finalists are announced, which is expected to be late August.

We look forward to partnering with Australian Taekwondo Western Australia to deliver a great weekend of competition. An official announcement regarding the National Championships will be released once all stakeholders are confirmed.
