Sports Taekwondo (Ages 8+ — All Abilities Welcome)
Class Duration: 55–60 minutes
Class Time: 5:45pm–6:45pm
Our Sports Taekwondo program is designed for students aged 8 and over who are ready to challenge themselves and explore the exciting, fast‑paced world of Olympic‑style Taekwondo. These sessions are open to all abilities and focus on helping each athlete grow at their own pace while developing confidence, fitness, and strong technical skills.
Training includes sport‑specific conditioning, sparring drills, and movement patterns used in Olympic Taekwondo. Students learn how to apply their kicks, blocks, and footwork in a controlled, safe, and supportive environment. Whether your goal is personal improvement, building athletic ability, or preparing for competition, this class provides the foundation you need.
Our club is proudly registered with Australian Taekwondo, the national sporting organisation for Taekwondo in Australia. Students who wish to compete at State or National level will be guided by our experienced coaching and strength & conditioning team, who are committed to helping athletes reach their goals.
To participate in Sports Taekwondo classes, students must have a full set of approved sparring gear, including a white or clear mouthguard (available at most pharmacies or sporting stores). Students must be at least 8 years old and have completed 3–6 months of regular training in our Monday and Tuesday classes. This ensures everyone has a solid understanding of basic kicks, blocks, and sparring movements, allowing them to get the most out of the Thursday sessions.
We ask students to arrive 5–10 minutes early for a light warm‑up and to put on their gear. Students who arrive late will need to complete a short warm‑up before joining the class.
Class places are confirmed once payment has been received. Students must be registered members to purchase this training package. For safety reasons, anyone attending without the required sparring equipment will not be able to participate, as sparring is a key component of the curriculum and athlete safety is our highest priority.
