U20 Team Challenge Event 2024

 

The Juinor team challenge event is designed to give fencers a chance to choose their own team members and fence together.

Criteria:

  • All team members must be U20 1 Jan 2024
  • All team members must be the same gender
  • Teams can be made up of 3 or 4 fencers- Selectors prefence is 3 fencers
  • Team members can be from different regions

Competition Format -Teams: 
Direct elimination. All team matches will be the standard (Italian Relay) format to 45 points. If there are only 3 teams  entered then a poule maybe fenced. 

Medals: Gold medals will be awarded; silver if more than 2 teams enter an event;  bronze if more than 4 teams enter. 

Team Entry Fee:

$30 per fencer. Each fencer is to enter using the attached registration and pay their own entry fee. 

Want to fence but not sure who you will be in a team with. Please enter and this can be sorted at the venue

Junior Men's Epee Team     7.45am 8.30am
Junior Women's Foil Team 8.15am 9.00am
Junior Men's Sabre Team 9.30am 10.00am
Junior Men's Foil Team 11.30am 12.00pm 
Junior Women's Epee Team  1.00pm 1.30pm 
Junior Women's Sabre Team       1.30pm 2.00pm 

 

A Note From The Selectors: 

All fencers who wish to enter the Junior Challenge teams event will need to work with each other to create their own teams.  We know this is new to most of you and I am sure that coaches will help you with this process.
We would prefer to see three person teams to facilitate everyone getting a fair chance to be observed fencing in a team format. If you are unsure who else is attending, or you want to fence but aren't in a team please enter and then register with DT, we will ensure that you are allocated to a team.
Each individual fencer will need to enter via revolutionise as for the individual event, and the entry fee is $30 per person.
Entries for teams needs to be submitted to the DT at the venue by 3pm on the 27th of April. 

A form to put your team entries on will be available at the venue to fill out and hand back in to the DT.


Once the selectors have reviewed the teams and know the number of entries for each weapon/gender then a format for each event will be specified.  The initial matches for each weapon/gender will be set up and announced.
