Inter Cities U13  Competition 2023

All U13 fencers within NZ are welcome to fence in this competition.  All fencers that participate in this competition receive a goodie bag when they arrive at the venue and register for their event. 

Eligibility:  This tournaments is open to fencers who are  U13 on 1 January 2023 ie:born on or after 1 January 2010.

Event Format: There will be both an individual and team competition

Individual Event: Events will be mixed age, unless numbers warrant separate events, ie. U9, U11 and U13.  If numbers permit separate boys and girls events will be held. Four or more of each gender and age group will be required, any less and the event will be mixed.

Round One:  Poules with bouts to five hits.

Round Two: Direct elimination  to ten hits. (Structure of DE will be two periods of three minutes).

Team Event : If the region has an insufficient number of fencers they may enter a composite team. Teams can be mixed in age and gender

Medals/Trophies: 

 Individual: Medals will be presented to the top four fencers in each individual event.

Team: Certificates will be presented to the top three teams. 

Team Trophies: 

Leon Paul Foil Trophy- U13 Team Challenge  between Mid South region & South region

Daniel Chan Team Trophy: Presented to the winning team (team can be from any region)

All fencers will receive a goodie bag. 

 

Entry Fee: $40. A fencer can then fence in both the indivdual and team event. 

Entries Close: Wednesday 1st November at 8pm. 

Entry fees are to be paid at time of entry. Mid South's preferred payment method is by  internet banking.

Equipment Requirements: 

Fencing jacket (CE350N)

Fencing breeches (CE350N)or Long track pant are acceptable.

Under plastron (CE350N).

Chest protectors for girls is compulsory.

Fencing glove.( no holes for body wires)

Fencing mask (CE350N) with elastic strap across back (Metallic bib not required). Leon Paul exchange masks must have a secondary strap.

Electric foil (U9-U11 can use blade size #0- #3 , U13 blade size no restrictions)

Timetable:

Individual events: 

Saturday 4th November

Registration for  Epee  9am to 9.15am

Fencing starts at 9.30am

Registration for Foil  11am to 11.30am

Fencing starts at 12 noon

Canteen: There will be no canteen. Please ensure that fencers bring a packed lunch plus snacks for morning and afternoon tea.

Live Results: These will be published on Fencing Time Live.
