Mid South Novice & Intermediate Secondary School Championships 2018

This Tournament is for Year 9 to Year 13 students that are either in their first year of fencing ie. started fencing in 2018, or are in their second year or above of fencing and have never received a medal at a regional (Mid South Champs or your region ie: South, North, Central) or New Zealand Tournament.  

Format: 1 round of pools, bouts fenced to 5 points. Followed by 1 round of direct elimination, bouts to 15. If numbers permit separate men and women events. 6+ of each gender will be required, any less the event will be mixed gender.

Timetable:

10.00am Wheelchair Novice Foil Registration opens

10.15am Wheelchair Novice Foil Registration closes

10.30am Wheelchair Foil commences

11.30am Foil Registration opens 

11.45am Foil Registration closes

12 noon Foil commences

1.30pm Epee registration open

1.45pm Epee registration closes

2pm Epee commences

Entry Fee: $20 Novice Foil, $20 Intermediate Foil, $20 Novice Epee, $20 Intermediate Epee

Entries close on Wednesday 1st August at 9pm

Entry fees are to be paid at time of entry. Mid South's preferred payment method is by internet banking.

As the reference please use fencer's name and the invoice number eg: ME736

Late Entries will be accepted at the discretion of the organiser.

Medals: will be presented to the top 4 ( 1st , 2nd and 3rd=) fencers in each event.

Gear Requirements:

350N fencing jacket and plastron (CE350N)

Chest protectors are compulsory for girls

Fencing breeches (CE350) or Long track pants are accepted. 

Shorts and 3/4 leggings are not accepted 

Fencing glove

350N Mask. All masks must be fitted well and in good state and elastic in good condition. Leon Paul X-Change Masks must have a secondary Strap/Bar.

Lame bib is not required.

Canteen: There will be a canteen run at the venue on the day. As the event is an afternoon only, the canteen will have afternoon tea items (savoury and sweet) plus tea, coffee and juices.

 Results: Live results will be available on the Fencing Mid South website.
