Taree Summer Regatta - 10th - 12th January 2025
The Manning River lived up to its reputation with calm water in the mornings followed by wind and waves in the afternoons, with plenty of showers thrown in – at least the wind and rain kept the temperature down.
Twenty three Endeavour rowers competed with only four of our squad not attending (two overseas, one still recovering from surgery and one due to work commitments). From 42 starts, we had 3 wins, 9 seconds and 5 thirds. Top performers were Rosie Furness, Di McShane and Marg Churton with a win and 4 seconds each. The significant number of second places indicates that we were competitive, particularly the womens eight who came second twice, once by only 1.00 seconds – a result that could be bettered with more attendance at Sweep Oar Mondays. A notable second place went to Jacob Cobley in his first race over 2000 metres.
