Endeavour Presentation Deferred

Published Thu 07 Aug 2025

I went to the boatshed this morning. Duckenfield Road has a barrier across at the end of Eales Rd with a sentry monitoring people wanting to enter. Water is across the fields on both sides of the road and over the road for a 50 metre stretch between Eales Rd and the access road to the boatshed. I suspect there is also water over the road at the Morpeth end as it is lower than the eastern approach.

The river height gauge at Green Rocks shows that the river rose to 4 metres on Sunday and has fallen to 2 metres but with more rain today and on the way for the weekend it will not be back to normal for at least a week. When it is back down, I expect we will have to deal with a lot of mud.

Considering these conditions, it has been decided that the presentation, that was due to be conducted at the shed on Sunday, will be deferred to a date to be decided by Monday’s committee meeting (most likely Sunday 24th August).

Also, I am putting back my return to Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Sunday training sessions for another week – there will be no sweep on Monday 11th. If weather conditions allow it and Duckenfield Rd is re-opened, I will return to a full training schedule on Monday 18th August.
