Keelboat sailing is a popular activity at East Fremantle Yacht Club.
The Keelboat Section hosts both racing and cruising events, catering to all levels of skill and experience. Whether you are new to sailing or a seasoned sailor, we encourage anyone interested to get involved and enjoy being part of our vibrant sailing community.
Yachts are divided into 4 divisions based on performance. Racing at the club takes place most weeks throughout summer on the river with a smattering of events in the inshore waters of Cockburn Sound and Gage Roads for those who want to venture into the ocean, and include the traditional D'Arcy Race to Rottnest.
On Wednesday evening, during the summer sailing season East Fremantle Yacht Club hold a social twilight cruise. All keelboats are encouraged to participate. This is not a race event, although on a small number of days in the middle a summer a Wednesday Evening Race may occur concurrently.
