Course information
Better Sailing (Kids Learn to Race) is a progression of the Sailing Pathways and is perfect for those sailors graduating from Start Sailing and looking for more time on the water and tuition before joining our club racing fleets. It will also suit those budding sailors who have some experience and confidence in small sailing craft and wish to progress their skills to a higher level.
Sailors considering this course MUST already be able to sail a boat confidently in up to 12 knots – a moderate breeze, be able to tack and sail on the wind, either one- or two-up.
Our Better Sailing course is held in both Sabots and PJs, and RS Fevas and Visions, suiting a wide range of conditions and confidence levels.
NOTE: - Please register with the participant, ie the sailors details, not the parent/carer.
Throughout the Learn to Race, instructors will follow the Australian Sailing prescribed syllabus, with an emphasis not only on learning and progression, but keeping in mind safety and fun!
Participants may complete the Learn to Race 1-2 times and progression is at the sailor’s discretion or instructor’s recommendations.
