Membership Information

CURRENTLY WE HAVE A WAITLIST FOR LASER STORAGE IN THE CLUB (May 2024)

You may still sign up as a Member with Racing Addon and race with us. If you have any questions or wish to be waitlisted for ILCA/Laser storage please email secretary@dbsc.com.au   - You must be a member to waitlist for storage. If you are considering Storing in the Club, you must commit to race with us in our club racing at least 15 times a year (we run 48 race weekends a year over summer and winter, plus 24 twilight races during daylight savings)

You may find storage at other nearby clubs like www.woollahrasailingclub.org.au

Our members own an ILCA/Laser and Race with the club on Race days. 
Membership Applications will be submitted for approval to the Committee. If the application is unsuccessful any membership fees paid will be refunded. 

By registering for "Full membership" or "Temporary SailPass membership" with Double Bay Sailing Club (DBSC) you Acknowledge you have read the:

1. Emergency & Rescue Management Plan
2. Risk Warning, Release of Liability & Conditions 
3. Privacy Policy
4. Agree to be bound by the terms of each of those documents

IMPORTANT!
If you have been a member of any sailing club across Australia in recent years, your details (Australian Sailing Number) should be in our system. If you don't know your AS Number, you can look it up here: AS Number Finder.
If you have an existing AS number please use the "RETURNING MEMBER" button and enter your AS number, Name and DOB.

New Members with no AS number
If you do not have an AS number, you should press the "NEW MEMBER" button and enter your details, and a new AS number and login will be generated.

Temporary SailPass Membership
A SailPass is a free Temporary Membership with DBSC that will provide you with Australian Sailing Personal Injury Insurance Policy cover for the day/s that you are registered. It allows non-members to race with us, to see if they like it. All Learn to Race participants that are not members require a SailPass.
After selecting either "RETURNING MEMBER" or "NEW MEMBER"  below, you will have the opportunity to select "SailPass membership" and either the Winter or Summer SailPass.

Full Membership
Membership pricing comprises a base Membership fee, with add-ons available as set out below (note: some are required). If you are a sailing member, you must select "ILCA/Laser Racing". 
If your boat is stored in a rack at the club, you must select the "ILCA/Laser Rack Storage" option.

Membership is annual and is invoiced from 1 May to 30 April
If you join the club between 1 January and 31 March, you are entitled to a discount by entering one of the following codes: Registrations that take place in Jan-Feb (50%) = HALFYEAR, Mar (75%) = MARCH, if you have a Service NSW Active Kids Voucher to redeem please email the voucher and we can add the discount to your invoice.

Additional Notes:

• As a New Member you will be added to our Weekly Newsletter email. (if you do not want this, please use the "unsubscribe" button in the email.
• Boats, dollies and personal belongings are stored in the clubhouse at the risk of members and, to the maximum extent permitted by law, DBSC disclaims all liability (including for negligence). DBSC’s dolly policy is available HERE.
  - No member dolys are stored in the club.
• It is expected that a boat stored in the clubhouse will be raced regularly during club activities each year, and if this does not occur, the Club Committee may direct that the boat be removed.
• Boat rack locations are allocated at the discretion of the Club Committee, with reference to sailing frequency and volunteer contribution.
• Boats must be stored in their allocated rack (not in any other rack or on the clubhouse floor), unless authorised by the Club Committee.
• No storage of kayaks or stand up paddleboards are allowed in or outside of the clubhouse or as tender storage.
