Derwent Class Regatta – Invitation to Enter

The Derwent Sailing Squadron Inc. (DSS), as the Organising Authority (OA), invites owners of Derwent Class boats to participate in the  Derwent Class Regatta on Saturday 2 May 2026.

Key Details:

  • Entry Fee: $40 per boat.
  • Racing Schedule:
    • The first warning signal will be at 09:55 hours.
    • Up to six (6) races are scheduled.
    • No warning signal will be made after 16:00 hours on Saturday, 2 May 2026.

Insurance and Compliance:

  1. Insurance: All boat owners must hold a valid marine legal liability insurance policy covering racing activities, with a minimum coverage of A$10 million. A copy of insurance shall be provided with this entry.
  2. Crew Requirements:
    • A minimum of three crew members must be onboard unless a written dispensation is granted by the OA before the close of entries.
    • All crew must comply with the AS Prescription to RRS 46 and must either be members of a club affiliated with Australian Sailing or hold a valid SailPass.
  3. Equipment Compliance: Participating boats must comply with the AS Special Regulations Category 7 Equipment Audit Form. A copy of your self audited Equipment Audit Form shall be provided with this entry.
  4. Complimentary Berthing: Complimentary berthing at DSS will be available for the Derwent boats from Thursday, April 30, 2026, to Tuesday, May 5, 2026. Advance booking is required and details of arrival and departure to be provided with entry.

  5. Support Boat Berthing: Berthing for support boats will be available during the same period. Bookings are essential and will be offered at DSS member rates [HERE].
