The 2026 ADG 'Active Deaf Kids' Camp provides Deaf secondary (high school) children who use Auslan with the opportunity to connect, participate in sports activities, and experience Deaf culture in a fun and supportive Deaf-led environment linked to the Australian Deaf Games.

Participants will be supervised and led by experienced adults, supported by volunteers who are skilled in working with young people and hold a current Blue Card (Working with Children Check).  

Who for: Queensland Deaf school students who use Auslan

Age: Year 7 – 12 [12 – 18 years]

Cost: $0 (free for all attendees - including Breakfast and Dinner)

Accomodation: 4 nights at the Sunshine Coast Recreation Precinct (linen provided)

Remote / rural QLD families: if you have a deaf child who uses Auslan and in the 12 - 18 years age range, the family is eligble to join us at the camp and have access to camp accommodation.

Activities: Opening Ceremony; can choose to play in some non-contact sports (eg; swimming, chess, tennis, pickleball, handball etc); attend some social and cultural activities; meet deaf sport champions; other.

Travel Costs: Families will organise the travel to and from the camp. Please discuss travel arrangement with 2026 ADG 'Active Deaf Kids' Camp Coordinator. 

Limited: 25 students only

What to Bring: Clothes, towel (+ beach towel), toiletries, sunscreen, hat, lunch money, other as needed.
