For those who have completed a Tackers 2 course we are offering a 6 week Adventure Sailing course, 1:30pm to 4:30pm on Sundays 2nd Feb - 9th March. This course is great for those aged 10+ who are at or above the Tackers 2 / Out There Sailing 2 standard. They will loosely work towards the Tackers 3 / Out There 3 certificate, but consolidating their knowledge so far will be prioritised. Skills taught include roll tacking, the five essentials and backwards sailing.

Minimum age and ability?

This course is designed for those aged 10+ at or above the Tackers 2 / Out There 2 standard.

What to bring?

All sailors are required to wear a lifejacket, hat, sunscreen and shoes (old runners, wetsuits boots, crocs etc, NOT thongs) during the coaching sessions. Please BYO life jacket(these can be purchased from outdoor stores such as Anaconda, Sport Phillip Marine and BCF) - DBYC has a limited supply which can be borrowed if requested. Wetsuits are recommended, as the water is quite cold. Please bring a full water bottle, snack, towel and a change of clothes each day.


Overview

OutThere Sailing 3 has a variety of challenges and skills to master during the program. While the focus is still on fun and hanging out with mates, this course will teach you skills that will make you more competent out on the water and in a position to take your friends out sailing.

Prerequisites

Water confident.

Who should do this program?

This program is designed for participants who are 12-17 years-old, who have done OutThere Sailing 2, who are now looking to develop further sailing skills, whilst still having fun and engaging with other teenagers.
