DESCRIPTION:

This course is the combination of both the Start Powerboating course and Powerboat Handling Course.  This course will provide you with the necessary skills for the safe use of small powerboats, including the equipment to be carried, knowledge of seamanship, navigation and weather. Following the course, you will have sufficient skills and knowledge to skipper a small powerboat. In some instances, you can take your certificate to your State Maritime Regulator and gain the State Boat License.


Course Overview
This one-day course is designed to improve your boat handling skills, especially in confined areas such as marinas and in swell and waves. You will learn more about engines and types of crafts and practise navigation techniques on a passage. In some instances, you can take your completion certificate to your State Maritime Regulator and gain the State Boat License. 

Course Prerequisites

Water confident. The skills and knowledge gained in Start Powerboating or equivalent power boating experience.

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who wish to further develop their powerboat driving skills. This course is also a prerequisite for becoming a Dinghy and/or Windsurfing Instructor.

Course Outcome

You will gain your Powerboat Handling completion certificate.
