Cheer on our teams in our special DBACT Benefit Regatta
Regatta theme is “Masquerade”.

*AWARENESS: The Regatta's aim is to raise awareness of breast cancer in the Canberra region through the sport of dragon boat racing. Funds raised will support Dragons Abreast Canberra and Dragons Abreast Australia to continue its work in promoting dragon boating to breast cancer survivors as a beneficial exercise, celebrating wellness, fitness, fun and camaraderie for breast cancer survivors and their supporters.

*EXCITEMENT: Spectators are welcome to witness the excitement of this annual charity event. Expect to see some amazing costumes on the day and enjoy the BBQ, coffee and cakes! Lots of categories including fastest team, best dressed and best tent site.

*TRIBUTE: On the day, you can leave a message of support or remembrance on a Pink Lady Silhouette in our BCNA Mini Field of Women. We will also hold a 'Flowers on the Water' ceremony. Flowers on the Water is a very special ceremony conducted by members of Dragons Abreast Australia to honour those who have, and are continuing to travel, the path of a breast cancer diagnosis, as well as remembering those who have lost their battle.

• Maggie Sharp Award - Fastest all female team time of the day

• Health Heroes/Anna Wellings-Booth Memorial - Fastest medical team in any heat

• Sylvia Flaxman - Dragon Spirit Award - Most in keeping with the ethos of DA Canberra

• Highest Fundraiser Perpetual Shield -  Highest amount raised over & above registration (paid into DBACT account with DACFundraiser - team name

• Also, team cups presented for place getters in the A final, B final, C final, and the D final (Mad Mask) Relay event.

Food and Drinks onsite at the Regatta:

• Fyshwick Markets Fruit (Ziggys’s) donated free for paddlers when crews come off the water from racing (located near marshalling tent)

• Cafe 2U Coffee- for coffee donation of sales to Dragons Abreast Canberra

• Dragons Abreast Canberra Cake Stall (sale of items  cupcakes, slices etc. to go with your coffees)

• Diamond Phoenix BBQ meat and vegetarian options for sale. Proceeds of sales to support both Dragons Abreast Canberra and the Diamond Phoenix Dragon Boat Club

Other ways to donate on the day of the regatta:

• Purchase Tickets in the Regatta Raffle (Prizes include: Quilt, Linda Garland ‘Masquerade Australian Characters' watercolour, Kayak Cameraman 2019 Calendar donated by Paul Jurak amongst others)

• Purchase Dragons Abreast Canberra and Pink/Breast Cancer Awareness Merchandise at the regatta

• "Happy Faces" face painting for all for a gold coin donation. All teams are encouraged to get the breast cancer pink ribbon, or another face painting option to go with your team theme. This is also a good activity for children to get involved in.

Please remember to bring cash for purchasing items (as no EFTPOS or credit card facility on site)
