Welcome to Southern Investigator Winter Wednesday Program Training Day 3 afternoon session Cost of the session: $125 Time: 1.30pm start and 5.00 finish What to bring: Some warm clothes, wet weather gear if owned (if not no problem we have lots on the boat), a change of clothes for apres sailing refreshments at the CYCSA club bar.
This session is going to focus on
Sail handling and maintenance including set, trim, reefing and basic ropework in particular:
Preparation for sailing based on weather forecast and how that determines sail choice
Getting a vessel ready for sea
Briefing of crew for the expected conditions of the day
Vessel preparation to depart their berth based on wind direction and strength
Setting of sails in enclosed waters of North Haven basin
Sail trim for all points of sail
Reefing and shaking out reefs in mainsail and headsail
Dropping and furling sails in enclosed waters of North Haven basin
Sailing a basic triangular course as helm and as mainsheet and headsail trimmer
