CYCSA YSF School Holiday Squad

The CYCSA Youth Sailing Foundation Holiday Squad provides an ideal introduction to keelboat sailing for sailors aged 13-18 whose sailing experiences range from limited to reasonably competent. Held four times a year during school term break, each course is four days in length and utilises the CYCSA Youth Sailing Foundation’s fleet of Elliott 7m keelboats, crewed by 4- 5 sailors with a confident skipper on board.

Holiday  Squad Objectives

• Provide coaching, theory, and training for sailors to refine their sailing skills for keelboats.
• Develop a higher level of boat handling skills using both asymmetric and symmetric spinnakers.
• Improve fleet racing skills using Elliott 7’s.
• Develop sound knowledge and understanding of Racing Rules of Sailing.
• Gain valuable teamwork experience.
