Today was our working bee for the start of the new year.
What a success !
We had 20 members attend, spread across 3 hours. They arrived with buckets, mops, sponges, hats and gloves, and bountiful enthusiasm. Malcolm lead the team on the lawns ….. measuring, laying string lines, line marking, setting hoops, boundary marking, mowing and trimming the grass edges, and also some much needed weeding. Kate and Lorraine lead the team inside the clubhouse ……. washing down benches, fridge, cupboards, tables, cleaning the windows, dusting down and washing the mallet rack, sweeping and washing the floor, putting away and general tidying up. With a burst of energy, Peter W. and Alan H. washed the outside windows, while Sandy swept the outside walls of the clubhouse, freeing up lots of spiders !
It was a mighty team effort. We awarded a prize for the ‘worst’ job of the day ……. Di Bradhurst washed the concrete where the birds had left a substantial impact ! Di was still smiling after …… phew !!
A very big thank you to everyone involved today.
We have a beautiful croquet club, something for all members to enjoy.
