Coastal Cruising Club of Australia Presents: Adam Brown (“Brownie”)

Fresh from completing his 38th Sydney Hobart Yacht Race—finishing 12th over the line and 2nd in division on Antipodes—Adam Brown (Brownie) will be joining the Coastal Cruising Club of Australia for a special presentation.

Brownie will speak about his experience as a crew member aboard Sword of Orion during the tragic 1998 Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race, a story widely known through Bruce Knecht’s book The Proving Ground.

He will be joined by a member of the rescue helicopter crew, who fought the same catastrophic storm conditions to carry out the daring rescues that saved so many sailors.
