Coastal Cruising Club of Australia presents: Lin Pardey – Passages and Adventures: Sailing Through Life
Join us for a rare and inspiring evening with one of the most iconic figures in the world of cruising—Lin Pardey. With over 200,000 nautical miles under her keel and more than 60 years of voyaging, Lin has become a living legend among sailors, adventurers, and dreamers alike.
Together with her late husband Larry, Lin built and sailed engine-free wooden boats under 30 feet, completing two circumnavigations—east to west and west to east. Their motto, “Go small, go simple, go now,” sparked a global movement and inspired thousands to embrace the cruising lifestyle. Lin’s storytelling is as captivating as her seamanship: raw, honest, and full of heart. She’s the author of more than a dozen books, countless magazine articles, and co-creator of five acclaimed sailing documentaries.
In this presentation, Lin will share tales from her most memorable passages—stormy nights off Cape Horn, tranquil anchorages in the South Pacific, and the emotional journeys that come with a life lived at sea. She’ll also reflect on her solo adventures and the next chapter of her life after Larry, offering wisdom and warmth that resonate far beyond the sailing community.
