The CYC/CDBA San Francisco Dragon Boat Festival race event is 100% volunteer-run, so we need your help to ensure this race goes smoothly!

We appreciate the many volunteers from the community who want to help out, and we also hope that each local team participating in the race can also rally four (4) non-paddling volunteers to help out for volunteer shifts.

We have two shifts: Morning shift is from 7:30am - 12:30pm and afternoon shift is from Noon - 5:00pm. Please indicate your preference during the registration process. Thank you!

"Skilled Volunteers" must have volunteered at 2 or more races. Lead roles are reserved for our trained and certified staff.

Frequently asked questions:

• What experience or skills are required to volunteer?
  • None!  While it is great if you have dragon boat experience, it is absolutely not required to help out at the race.  Consider this your first introduction to dragon boating! 
• What should I bring and wear on race day?
  • Wear: water-resistant clothing, water-resistant shoes
  • DO NOT WEAR: jeans, cotton, or fleece because you may get wet, especially if you are helping with the dock!
  • Optional but recommended: hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, gloves
