Youth Sail Training 2020/2021 - Single Handed / Social Group
BYS Youth Training commences 27 December 2020 - 21st March 2021. Training times vary on Summer holidays and Term 1. BYS Members: $400 Non BYS Members: $550 *Note there is an additional AS fee of $17.50. Due to Covid fees not due until Training commences.

Our Youth Sail Training program caters for participants aged 12-18 of all skill levels.

As part of our Single-handed boat program, participants sail in either the Laser class group, or the Social Sailing group. Laser participants are expected to have their own boats. The Social Sailing group take part in a number of different water-based activities including Pacer sailing, J70 (keelboat) sailing, windsurfing, stand-up paddleboarding and powerboating. If you have your own boat you wish to sail that is not a Laser, let us know and we will ensure that we accomodate you.

Course Overview
Join in the fun and challenge as you learn the basics of racing in a dinghy.

Course Prerequisites

Water confident and you should have the skills, knowledge and experience gained from the Better Sailing course.

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who wish to learn the basics of racing and begin competing at club-level races. 

Course Outcome

You will gain your Start Racing (Dinghy) completion certificate. 

 

We recognise that some of our course participants are completing the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award and may be using sailing and/or club membership to complete one or more sections of The Award. To learn more, click here
