Course Overview

Ready to take the helm? The Start Helming course builds on the skills and knowledge gained through Start Crewing, developing your theory and practical skills to steer and control a keelboat. You'll learn the fundamentals of helming while continuing to develop your understanding of sailing and working as part of a crew. All equipment and gear will be provided, and you'll learn from a qualified Sailing Instructor.

Course Prerequisites

Water confident, over 16 years of age, with the skills, knowledge and experience gained through Start Crewing or equivalent keelboat sailing experience.

Course Outcome

You will gain your Start Helming completion certificate.
