Ready to give keelboat racing a try? Join a crew for our Friday night twilight races and experience the full race experience, from rigging the boat and getting out on the water to racing, de-rigging, and enjoying a social drink afterwards.

You’ll race with a qualified keelboat instructor and get extra time on the water developing your skills while meeting other BYS members.

Course prerequisites: BYS membership and previous keelboat sailing experience, including Start Crewing and Start Helming, or equivalent experience. You should be comfortable sailing as part of a crew and able to commit to all sessions, as your crew will be counting on you.

What to bring: A sailing jacket and sailing gloves are required. Please also wear warm layers and suitable non-slip footwear for sailing in the evening. A lifejacket will be provided if you don't yet have your own.

Sessions will only go ahead when conditions are suitable for racing. If the weather isn’t suitable, the session will not proceed.

Cost: $95, subsidised through donations to our BYS Sail Training programs.
