Australian Sailing - OutThere Sailing: OutThere Sailing Experience (Dinghy)

Course information

Ready to get OutThere? This session is a fun and social introduction to stand up paddleboarding (SUP) for young people aged 12–17.

OutThere SUP is all about trying something new, having fun and building confidence on the water. Participants will learn about SUP equipment and safe, effective stand up paddleboard technique, before getting out on the water and having a go in a fun group environment.

Why OutThere SUP at BYS?

  • Try something new: Get a taste of stand up paddleboarding and learn the basics.
  • Have fun with friends: OutThere is social, active and non-competitive.
  • Learn by doing: Get hands-on with the equipment and develop your paddling skills on the water.
  • Equipment is provided: BYS provides the stand up paddleboards, paddles, lifejackets and other equipment needed for the session.
  • Learn in a supportive environment: Our experienced instructors help participants build confidence and develop safe, effective SUP skills.

The goal is simple: try something new, have fun and enjoy being on the water!

What to wear

SUP can be wet and active, so participants should be comfortable getting wet and bring clothing and footwear suitable for being on the water. A wetsuit is ideal, particularly in cooler weather.

The activities will be adapted to suit the weather and conditions on the day.
