Ready to get OutThere? This session is a fun and social introduction to windsurfing for young people aged 12–17.
OutThere Windsurfing is all about trying something new, having fun and building confidence on the water. These sessions have a specific focus on windsurfing, where participants will learn how to rig the boards, get familiar with the equipment and have a go at some basic windsurfing skills.
Why OutThere Windsurfing at BYS?
- Try something new: Get a taste of windsurfing and learn the basics in a fun, relaxed environment.
- Have fun with friends: OutThere is social, active and non-competitive.
- Learn by doing: Get hands-on with the equipment and develop new skills through practical activities on the water.
- Equipment is provided: BYS provides the windsurfing boards, sails, lifejackets and other equipment needed for the session.
- Activities suit the conditions: The activities will be adapted to suit the weather and conditions on the day.
The goal is simple: try something new, have fun and see what you think!
What to wear
Windsurfing can be wet and active, so participants should be comfortable getting wet and bring clothing and footwear suitable for being on the water. A wetsuit is ideal, particularly in cooler weather.
