SEASON 2026-27 OPENING DAY MINNOW MUSTER

Come and be part of the fun at our Season Opening Day Minnow Muster! This year is extra special as BYS celebrates its 75th year!

The Minnow Muster is for all junior sailors who took part in Sail Training last season, whether sailing a Minnow, Optimist or O'pen Skiff. Don't worry if you don't usually sail on Saturdays, our instructors will help you get ready and show you what to do.

We'll begin with a special opening ceremony to bless the fleet, followed by a shared lunch on the deck. We'd then love to see our junior sailors head out on the water together with their instructors and take part in our traditional Sail Past, where all the Club's boats parade past the Commodore's boat for inspection.

If the conditions are too windy for our junior sailors to sail, we'll take the sailors out on a Club RHIB with the Minnow flag so they can still be part of the Sail Past.

11.30 am – Season Opening Ceremony on the lawn
12.00 pm – BBQ lunch provided
1.00 pm – Rig boats and briefing with our Sailing Instructors
2.00 pm – Official Minnow Muster Sail Past. As a junior fleet, we'll sail out to Moonraker, give “three cheers for the Commodore” and enjoy some sailing fun.
3.00 pm – De-rig and pack up boats

Please register so we can make sure we have the right number of instructors to safely support our junior sailors. Don't forget to use your child's name for registration, not the parent's name.

We'd also love some parent helpers to assist on RHIBs. Please indicate if you can help with this during the registration steps.
