BYS Off the Beach Storage Application – 2026–27 Summer Sailing Season
Applications open on 1 August.
Applications close at 11.59 pm on Thursday 24 September. Storage allocations and invoices will be issued on Friday 25 September.
Following the initial allocation, applications will reopen for any remaining storage spaces. Applications received after the initial allocation will be offered storage only if space is available. If all spaces have been allocated, your application will be placed on the waiting list.
Applications are open to members in the following BYS membership categories: Full, Intermediate, Special, Life, Junior (8–17 years) participating in the BYS Sail Training Program

Allocation Process
Demand for storage typically exceeds the space available, and unfortunately not all applications can be accommodated. Storage allocations are based on sailing participation during the previous season and anticipated participation in the upcoming season, not on the order in which applications are received.
Storage allocations and invoices will be issued on 26 September. You do not need to make payment when submitting your application. If you are allocated a storage space, payment must be received within 7 days of the invoice date to confirm your allocation. Unpaid allocations may be offered to applicants on the waiting list.
Members who sail only occasionally are encouraged to make use of the Club's Pacer fleet.
Storage Conditions
- Storage is at the owner's risk. Boat owners must maintain appropriate insurance.
- BYS reserves the right to relocate boats as required for maintenance, regattas or operational purposes. Boat trolleys and wheels must be in good working order.
- Boats must be kept clean, tidy and well presented. Torn or badly damaged boat covers are not acceptable.
- All boats must be clearly identified by their sail number on both the transom and the trolley.
- Boats must be removed from Club storage at the end of the summer season.
- One boat per application.
RS Aero World Championships
The lawn storage area will be reserved for competitors in the RS Aero World Championships and championship preparation from 4.00 pm Thursday 14 January until 11.00 am Saturday 23 January 2027.
If your boat is stored on the lawn, please arrange to take it home during this period. Boats remaining on site will be relocated to the beach area west of the pier for the duration of the regatta.
