Welcome to Byron Bay Runners Herb Elliott Twilight Meet 2026!

Byron Bay Runners are looking forward to welcoming you to a great night of racing under the track lights. There will be lots of action on and off the field:

On the track - races for all ages and fitness levels, from 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, community 3,000m to the ANSW Herb Elliott 1500m (Heat A as an elite field).

Trackside - we will have our MC's providing race commentary and athlete interviews, food trucks and a runners' merch shop.

All races are run at Byron Bay Runners training venue, the Herb Elliott Athletics Track, Cavanbah Centre, which is an 8 lane grass track. All races will be manually timed, along with video timing. Please note this is a provisional timetable; the final timetable will be confirmed once entries have closed (14/10/26), and we know final numbers of athletes per heat. Prize/presentation ceremonies will be conducted after the final heat of each distance.

Byron Bay is in NSW and operates on 'daylight saving' (an hour before Qld). Program times are approximate.

All athletes must report to the Call Room/Athlete 'check in' at least 15 minutes before the start of their first race to receive their race bib (if you are entering multiple races you only need to check in once as you will use the same number). The call room will close 10mins before the scheduled start time of the event.

All races are timed finals, with perpetual trophies awarded to the fastest male and fastest female (eligible for perpetual trophy from any heat, note ANSW Herb Elliott trophy is for ANSW and LANSW club members only). Age category awards (juniors/opens/masters) will also be given if we have a minimum of 10 male and 10 female runners in each age category (otherwise results will be aggregated across categories).

Prize money and/or product prizes will be awarded to the top 3 fastest females and males for each race distance across all timed heats.

Please bring a chair or blanket to sit on (we do not have trackside seating).

We look forward to welcoming you on Saturday 17 October 2026.
