The 2026 Barossa Open will be held at The Rex in Tanunda South Australia on Friday 30th and Saturday 31st January 2026.

1 Night and 1 Day Format:
It has been shown over the last few years that the format of Friday Night and Saturday Day matches is favoured for this style of tournament. Although only 53 minutes drive from the Brickworks, this distance is too far for some to manage on a Friday night, especially considering work and family commitments. To keep the tournament on time, some Friday matches must be played. Please indicate your preference or availability for a Friday night match in the compulsory sign-up questions.
The Rex has been booked for an extended period for this tournament to allow for a clean and smooth finish.

Accommodation:
Many people like to make this a weekend event and stay up in the Barossa.
There is always something on in the Barossa, and this event coincides with a Jimmy Barnes concert in Tanunda. Accommodation will be limited and non-existent if you book last minute. Book early to avoid disappointment, or call Damian Molineux 0437 384 776 for early options.

Social:
Barossa Valley Squash Club is primarily a social club. As such, we will be suggesting a dinner at the Tanunda Club on Saturday night after the tournament. This is not compulsory to attend, but just a bit of a wind-down before you head back to Adelaide. For booking purposes, please indicate whether you will be attending in the sign-up process.

Prize Money:
There is currently $3,425AUD available in Prize Money for this year's event.
Div 1 & Women's Div - 1st $1000, 2nd $400
Div 2 though Div 6 - 1st $125, 2nd $75

Divisions and Draws:
Please enter a division that you think may be appropriate; however, players will be moved to an appropriate division by tournament officials prior to the draw. Players will be assigned a division based on their Squash Levels level on the day of the tournament entry close. Divisions will be comprised of 8 players and the draw will be a Monrad format with 3 guaranteed matches (subject to withdrawals, injuries or forfeitures). The top 8 Women entrants will be entered into Women's Div and all other players will be ranked into divisions based on their Squash Levels Score.
As a guide:
State 1 - Division 1
State 2 & State 3 - Division 2
State 3 & State 4 - Division 3
State 5 & Division 1 - Division 4
Division 1 & 2 - Division 5
Beginner - Division 6

Women's Division:
This year, Barossa Valley Squash Rackets Association Inc. is introducing a dedicated Women’s Division to encourage and support more women participating in tournaments. Entry into this division is optional, and all women entering the event will be asked for their preference before the draw is created.
Our aim is to create the best experience for all players, and we appreciate your support as we trial this initiative.
