The National Accredited Umpire Course is a 1 day course run by the Badminton Victoria Technical Officials Committee (BVTOC) and delivered in person.
Prior exposure and knowledge of badminton is advantageous but not mandatory.
Prior to registration, attendees must complete the items listed below and upload documents as part of the course registration process via Revolutionise.

Please see below list of mandatory pre-requisites to attending this course. If payment is not received or correct documentation is not submitted prior to the course, registration may be cancelled.
- Understand and speak English fluently
- Pay BVTOC umpire course fee
- $60 for theory course only, no practical assessment (to add practical assessment at a later date will be an additional $35)
- $85 for theory course and practical assessment within 12 months of theory course
- Obtain a Working With Children Check (WWCC) (or have a current Victorian Institute of Teaching Registration Number)
- Badminton Australia online course - Laws of Badminton - $25
- Badminton Australia online course - Scoring - Free
- Sports Integrity Australia (SIA) online course (4 modules below) - Free
- Competition Manipulation and Sport Gambling

After content delivery, at the end of the day attendees have the opportunity to complete a theory assessment in the form of a written examination. Candidates who have successfully passed the theory assessment (pass mark of 80%) will be invited to undertake practical assessment at future tournaments within Victoria to gain the qualification of Badminton Australia National Accredited Umpire.
