About the Event

Hosted by Bundaberg & District Table Tennis Association, the Smash & Serve: Bundaberg Business Cup brings local businesses together for a fun and engaging team competition.

Teams will compete in a series of fast-paced matches before progressing to crossover finals. Along the way, participants can enjoy networking opportunities, a BBQ dinner, and a relaxed atmosphere that makes this event suitable for both competitive and social players.

At the end of the night, prize money awarded to the top teams will be donated directly to local charities chosen by those teams, creating a lasting impact beyond the competition itself. Last year, a total of $550 were donated to Relay for Life (QLD Cancer Council), Starlight Children's Foundation, and Sailability Bundaberg.


Event Format

  • Teams of 2–3 players
  • Each team match consists of:
    • 2 Singles Matches
    • 1 Doubles Match
  • Round-robin stage followed by crossover finals
  • Capped at 12 teams to maintain a fun and social atmosphere
  • Medals and prizes awarded to top-ranked teams
  • BBQ dinner included for all players

Event Schedule

(Times are approximate and subject to change)

3:30 PM – Teams check in and practice

4:00 PM – Welcome, competition briefing, and matches commence

6:00 PM – BBQ dinner break and networking

7:00 PM – Matches resume

8:15 PM – Presentations, sponsor acknowledgements, and sponsor speech (if applicable)

8:30 PM – Event concludes

Venue: Bundaberg Table Tennis Centre

Team Size: 2–3 players per team (maximum one Bundaberg Table Tennis member per team)

Entry Fee: $50 per team (includes BBQ dinner)

  • Recommended Age: The Business Cup is aimed at adult participants (18+), though families are welcome to attend and support as spectators.
  • Spectators: Friends, family, and colleagues are encouraged to come along. BBQ dinner and refreshments will be available for purchase on the night.

Entries Close: Tuesday, 18 August 2026

Team Cap: 12 teams only

Registration Guidelines

  • This is a team entry event. One person may register on behalf of the entire team.
  • Please have the names of all team members ready before starting your registration.
  • Teams may register up to the maximum number of players permitted under the event rules.
  • Team places are allocated on a first paid, first secured basis.
  • Payment must be completed to secure your team's spot. Unpaid entries may be released if the event reaches capacity.
  • With team numbers capped, early registration is strongly encouraged to avoid disappointment.
