Brisbane Table Tennis Association (BTTA) is delighted to be hosting our annual Brisbane Open tournament for 2026! We welcome you to come and compete against the very best, battling for glory on the court and some prizes to take home.

Fees: $15 for Singles events, $10 p.p. for Doubles events, $5 TTQ Tournament Levy

Prizes:

Open & Women's Singles: $500 for winner, $250 for runner-up, $75 for semi finalists*

Other Events: Medal + 1x free burger from Burger Urge for Winner, and medal for Runner-Up
Canteen: There will be a canteen operating throughout the event offering a range of food and drinks at affordable prices.
ENTRY CONDITIONS:

Tournament Control: The tournament will be held under the current ITTF Laws of Table Tennis and Regulations for International Competitions, as well as any applicable TTA and TTQ rules and regulations. The BTTA organisers reserve the right to cancel or combine events in which insufficient entries have been received.

Affiliation: All entrants must be registered members of a club or association affiliated with TTQ, TTA (at Club Comp or Comp Plus level), or international equivalents affiliated with the ITTF.

Entries: Entries must be made via the BTTA RevolutioniseSport Portal. Telephone or email entries will not be accepted. Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the organisers. Entrants are only permitted to enter one (1) event with simultaneous starting times.

Fees & Levies: Entrants are liable for all event fees, which must be paid online through the portal prior to the close of entries. In addition to event fees, all entrants agree to pay the mandatory $5.00 per person Table Tennis Queensland Tournament Levy.

Age Limits: Any reference to age is defined as follows:

Juniors (U11–U21): Age as of 31st December 2025 (e.g. U/11 means born in 2015 or later).

Seniors (O30–O80): Age reached during the 2026 calendar year (e.g. O/30 means born in 1996 or earlier).

Para Eligibility: Players nominating for a Para event must be able to demonstrate they hold at least a provisional classification as issued by TTA or demonstrate they are actively on the classification pathway.

Event Format: Where possible, singles events will begin with round-robin groups of three, with one or two players progressing to a knockout phase. If entries exceed pre-allocated estimates, some events may be knockout only, and rated entries may be capped (first in, best dressed). Doubles events with three pairs will be round-robin only; all other doubles events will be knockout only.

Match Format: All Open Singles and Women's Singles semi-finals and finals will be played as the best of seven (7) games. All other matches and events will be the best of five (5) games.

Seeding & Grading: All seeding and grading is at the discretion of the Referee. Ratings Central (at the time of the close of entries) will be used as a reference. Grading for doubles will be based on the average rating of both players. Open Singles will be limited to the top 48 rated entrants.

Match Control: Each match will be controlled by an umpire whose decision will be final on points of fact. The decision of the Referee or Deputy Referee will be final on points of law.

Timings & Attendance: Event times are approximate. Players should be available at least 15 minutes prior to their advertised time slot. Players not available when called will be liable for disqualification. If unable to be present at the correct time, players must notify the organisers of their anticipated arrival, though disqualification may still apply.

Umpiring: There is an expectation for all players to umpire matches. Specifically, losing players (including the last in a round-robin group) are required to umpire the next match in that event. Any player wishing to leave the centre between scheduled matches must obtain prior approval from the Referee or Tournament Director to confirm they are not required for play or umpiring.

Balls & Clothing: ITTF-approved white Yinhe H40+ 3 Star balls will be used for all matches. Consequently, competitors must not wear predominantly white or pale-coloured clothing.

Venue Specifications: The facility features 21 courts (approx. 10m x 5.4m) with Red Taraflex flooring over wood and bright LED lighting. Equipment includes 18x Tibhar Smash 28/R Black Line tables and 3x SAN-EI Paragon Sensor tables.

Player Equipment: Players must use a racket meeting ITTF standards, includingcurrently ITTF-approved rubbers.

Conduct: Players shall engage in what the community would perceive to be good sportsmanship and respect for others.

*Prizes: Open and Women’s Singles prize money will scale to (W $400, RU $200, SF $60) if there are fewer than 20 entrants in that event.

Social Media: You agree to any photos or video captured during the tournament being used by BTTA for advertising and promotional purposes. You may request to opt-out by contacting BTTA in writing.

Participating at Own Risk:You acknowledge that participating in table tennis contains inherent risks. You fully accept and assume all responsibility for losses, costs, and damages incurred as a result of participation. You waive and release BTTA from all claims, demands, and liabilities arising out of your participation in the tournament and use of the facilities.

Defined Terms: In these Event Conditions, ‘BTTA’ means Brisbane Table Tennis Association Incorporated, and where the context permits, includes its respective administrators, directors, agents, officers, officials, committee members, volunteers, employees, other participants, and any sponsors.
