October 2021 - Return to Training

Published Fri 15 Oct 2021

Hi Everyone,

We are happy to announce that Club Training will resume on the weekend of Saturday 23rd October. With sessions as follows

  • Outrigger session on Saturday 23rd October at 8.30am

  • Dragon Boat session on Sunday 24th October at 8.45am

Training is open to those who are all fully vaccinated, or with a valid medical exemption. Proof of vaccination status or valid medical exemption will need to be shown on arrival at every session to participate. This is non-negotiable, and is a NSW government requirement. We will not record your vaccination status; it will only be sighted by the duty committee member.

On arrival, members attending must show the Committee Member on duty

  1. they have checked in at Bank Street using Bluefins’ Service NSW QR Code, and

  2. show proof of vaccination status or medical exemption.

These measures will be ongoing till 1st December 2021, or until changes are advised in NSW Public Health Orders. Bluefin’s ServicesNSW check-in QR Code will be posted at our parking bay and container. The duty committee member will be stationed at our container.

The Committee has completed all the required steps to return to Dragon Boat and Outrigger training sessions as a club. We have

  1. Updated our COVID safety plan and had it approved by DBNSW on the 14th October

  2. Received ServiceNSW Check-in QR Codes

  3. Reach out to you individually to gauge your interest in returning to training.

Members from the 2020-21 season need to renew their DBNSW or in the case of AOCRA membership, ensure it is still current, before returning to either session. A majority of 24 have indicated you wish to return to paddling and we request your cooperation in adhering to COVID-Safe procedures when we next meet on site and renewing your Bluefins membership before then. Please use the links below to

For the 2021/22 season Bluefins welcomes new paddlers with our “Trial Paddler Package” which allows all first time paddlers access to 5 training sessions (of any combination of dragon boat and outrigger sessions) for an upfront fee of $50. This $50 will be deducted from their Club fees upon officially signing up as a Bluefin. All new paddlers can register for the Trial Paddler Package here and RSVP via Team app

See you all on the water!
