BADMINTON GEELONG MEMBERS TOURNAMENT 2026 – PROSPECTUS

1. Tournament Overview 

Badminton Geelong is excited to announce Geelong Closed 2026, an exclusive graded members tournament celebrating 80 years of excellence. Open only to registered Badminton Geelong Premium Club Members, this event provides a competitive yet inclusive environment for both juniors and adults, promoting community spirit and sportsmanship within the club. All skill levels welcome through our graded competition format.

2. Event Details

Date: Saturday 3 October 2026

Venue:

• Badminton Geelong Stadium (Adults division)
• Branch Stadium (Juniors division)

Tournament Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM 

Courts Available: 12 courts total

• 6 Wooden Courts
• 6 Synthetic Courts

3. Eligibility

• Open exclusively to current Premium Club Members of Badminton Geelong (If you are not a Premium Member yet, please contact the BG Management and become a member today) - Click here to become a Premium Member today!
• Players must have an active premium membership at time of entry and during the tournament
• Juniors: Under 13, U15, U17 and U 19 Categories
• Adults: All ages (Grades A, B, C)

4. Competition Divisions

Juniors Division (Under 13 to 19)

Venue: Branch Stadium

Events:

• Boys Singles (BS)
• Girls Singles (GS)
• Boys Doubles (BD)
• Girls Doubles (GD)
• Mixed Doubles (XD)

Entry Fee: $25 flat rate (covers all events)

Grading: Please note there is no grading for junior events. 

Adults Division (Grades A, B, C)

Venue: Badminton Geelong Stadium

Events:

• Men's Singles (MS)
• Women's Singles (WS)
• Men's Doubles (MD)
• Women's Doubles (WD)
• Mixed Doubles (XD)

Entry Fee: $25 per event

Grading System:

• Grade A: Advanced/Competitive players
• Grade B: Intermediate players
• Grade C: Recreational/Fun players

Players self-grade based on experience and skill level. Management holds the rights to change the grading based on your skill levels. 

5. Tournament Format

• Graded tournament structure based on entries received
• Scheduling format to be determined upon confirmation of entries
• Finals to be concluded by 5:00 PM
• Award presentations....
• Optional exhibition match or opening rally by VIP guests prior to tournament commencement (if confirmed)

6. Entry & Registration

RSVP Deadline: 26 September 2026

Registration Includes:

• Player name and contact details
• Division selection (Juniors or Adults)
• Grade selection (if Adults: A, B, or C)

Payment:

• Juniors: $25 flat rate
• Adults: $25 per event
• Payment details will be sent to confirmed entries

7. Awards

Awards presented to:

• Division 1st and 2nd
• Grade-specific awards (Adults A, B, C)
• Age-group specific awards (Juniors)

8. What to Bring

Tournament:

• Comfortable sports clothing
