Beechworth Croquet Club at the NEDCA Golf Croquet Championships
At the recent NEDCA Open Singles Championships in Benalla & Doubles in Wodonga, the Beechworth Croquet Club was well represented by Maria Harvey, Stephen Burnett, John Barwood, David Box and Frank Bonacci.

The singles hosted at Benalla Saturday 2 May and Sunday 3 May 2026, with glorious autumn weather on Saturday and we scrambled off the courts Sunday afternoon when the lightning began. Jhon finished third in his Division 2 pool and David and Frank finishing each a bit lower down the order in thier respective divisions.

Frank Bonacci and David Box were fortunate enough to win the two-day doubles tournament — and remarkably, the winning result came down to:
•    the last hoop 
•    of the last game 
•    of the last day 
•    with a jump shot 
After ten games over the two days of play (4–5 May 2026), David and Frank won the final game of the tournament to secure first place on net hoops, finishing with 8 wins and a net 26 hoops.
The weather was kind to us with the sun occasionally coming out and more importantly all games were played in Great Spirit and fellowship as croquet should always be.
