NEDCA Doubles Championships

Beechworth Croquet Club at the NEDCA Doubles Championships

At the recent NEDCA Doubles Championships in Wodonga, the Beechworth Croquet Club was well represented by Maria Harvey, Stephen Burnett, David Box and Frank Bonacci.

Frank Bonacci and David Box were fortunate enough to win the two-day doubles tournament — and remarkably, the winning result came down to:

• the last hoop
• of the last game
• of the last day
• with a jump shot

After ten games over the two days of play (4–5 May 2026), David and Frank won the final game of the tournament to secure first place on net hoops, finishing with 8 wins and a net 26 hoops.

The weather was kind to us with the sun occasionally coming out and more importantly all games were played in Great Spirit and fellowship as croquet should always be.
