Black Powder Pistol events are typically shot at 25 or 50 metres, depending on the match format.
Competitors fire one-handed, standing, using traditional black powder pistols loaded with loose powder and projectile. Matches consist of a set number of shots fired within an overall time limit, placing emphasis on careful loading, consistency, and precision shooting.
